Sara grew up logging miles with her marathon-running mother and as a high school cross country and track athlete, but it was her husband who dragged her to her first CrossFit class in 2013. She quickly realized that she could barely lift an empty barbell — but also that she was hooked. Nine years later, she lifts more, runs less, competes occasionally, and has used the years of accumulated experience to branch out into programming and coaching. When she’s not exercising or crafting new workouts to help other gym members improve their fitness, she works as a managing editor for a group of community newspapers.
